Celebrity portrait and hospitality photographer Josh Telles joins the podcast to talk about how he went from a valley kid growing up in the shadow of Hollywood with no real direction on what he wanted to do when he got older, to taking portraits of some of the biggest named celebrities in the world, all because of stumbling into the right community college photo class and having the drive to chase down what he realized was his new dream. During our conversation Josh talks about how a chance run in with well known LA photographer Johnny Tergo would end up leading to an internship with celebrity photographer Art Streiber and help Josh to find his voice as an artist and get him in the door of the very competitive world of celebrity portraiture. We also discuss the balance of shooting portrait work and food and hospitality and how his desire to do both gave him issues with finding an agent but helped him financially and creatively diversify himself, what it's like shooting celebrities like George Clooney and the challenges you are sometimes faced with trying to achieve your vision, and the advice he gives to others coming up in the world of photography.
