Photographer, skateboarder, and most recently North Shore documentarian Arto Saari returns to the podcast to talk about how finally deciding to shoot everyday life around him in his adopted home of the North Shore of O'ahu would re-inspire his passion for photography and turn into a beautiful ongoing body of work that was recently featured by The Surfer's Journal in a feature and short video piece titled "Nordic Blood. Tropic Heart." During our conversation Arto talks about finally feeling like he's becoming part of the tight knit community that is the north shore, how and why he first started taking photos off of the bike path in town, when he realized that there was something visually there that was constantly pulling him back, the unique challenges of shooting street style documentarian work in a small town that you reside in, and what the future might hold for the images he's been accumulating.
