Commercial/editorial sports photographer and Nikon Ambassador Andrew Hancock returns to the podcast to talk about what's going on in his life during the current social and economical shutdown, and how this has effected the specific niche of sports photography, as well the industry itself.  Make sure to check out Andrew's original biographical episode (#86 in the archive) to hear his full story, but during this conversation we talk about how he's biding his time indoors with his family, what things could look like in the coming months for those who make their living from shooting sporting events, how we can use this time wisely to be prepared to hit the ground running when we are all on the other side of it, and what he's been up to over the last year since we last talked.

On this episode of Visual Revolutionary Shorts I take a small break from the normal talk of photography, filmmaking, and creativity to address the current situation we all find ourselves in these days and what I feel like a meditation/mindfulness practice can do to help in times of fear, anxiety, and uncertainty.  I'll be back very soon with a new episode, but until then I hope this talk comes in handy to someone out there struggling.

Commercial, editorial, and outdoor adventure photographer and filmmaker Sofia Jaramillo joins the podcast to talk about how she went from a kid growing up on the slopes of Sun Valley, Idaho to working as a photojournalist in Mexico City, to living in Jackson Hole Wyoming focusing her camera on the outdoor adventure lifestyle she is surrounded by for brands like the North Face and publications ranging from National Geographic to the New York Times.  Sofia found photography at a young age and instantly fell in love with the idea of having the ability to visually communicate to others the way she saw her surroundings.  Throughout her high school and college years, she focused on her craft and moved towards a future in journalism while studying and working for the Yakima Herald in Washington State. But after a stint as a photojournalist in Mexico City, she decided to move to the mountains of Jackson Hole and focus on the lifestyle and adventures that existed there.  Before long she began to get recognition from her peers, as well as from national publications and outdoor brands and has since begun to make a name for herself in the photography industry.  During our conversation we talk about what is was like to recently have the opportunity to represent National Geographic at the winter X Games in Aspen, CO, how she has transitioned into motion with a new film she is currently working on, what it was like to connect with her Latin routes after growing up in the predominantly white culture of a ski town, and the advice that she gives to others chasing their creative dreams in the mountains.

Photographer, author, educator, and host of the Candid Frame Podcast Ibarionex Perello joins me on the mics to talk about what he's learned about humanity and about himself from over 25 years of shooting on the streets of downtown Los Angeles, as well as all over the world.  During our conversation I get the chance to ask him what made him want to start his own podcast, what he's learned from over 500 conversations with photographers and filmmakers, what his feelings are about the current state of trying to make a living as a creative, and the advice he gives to those that are.
